In photography, light is everything. This image shows sunlight flooding into the bodega and illuminating the spiders’ webs on the old, wooden beams.

The second image contrasts the new with the old and traditional: modern cuisine, with sherry as an accompaniment. This food shot was set up in a studio.

Michelle Chaplow's work has been published worldwide in magazines, newspapers, books, leaflets, corporate brochures and websites. An image really can be worth a thousand words and photographs are like any precious pieces: it’s no good having them locked away out of view. According to Michelle, “The pleasure gained from sharing photographs in publications is indeed a treasure in itself.”
